About Us



Overview: StutterTalk is a weekly, free, 501 (c)(3) non-profit podcast. Every week host Peter Reitzes (pictured left with his son) talks with people who stutter, researchers, speech-language pathologists and family members. StutterTalk has featured conversations with famous people who stutter including  David Seidler, the academy award winning scriptwriter of the King's Speech, Emily Blunt (actress), John Stossel from ABC and Fox News and Jack Welch from General Electric, renowned researchers including Dr. Dennis Drayna from the National Institutes of Health and Dr. Gerald Maguire from the University of California, seasoned speech-language pathologists and researchers, leaders in the self-help community and many others.

History: The StutterTalk Podcast began recording and publishing audio podcasts in 2007. Since then StutterTalk has expanded to include Stutter Talk Videos. In December of 2009, StutterTalk became a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt organization. In 2010 StutterTalk added the B Team and in 2011 StutterTalk added an Advisory Council.

Mission Statement
: StutterTalk is dedicated to supporting people who stutter, their families, professionals, students, and the general public by talking openly about stuttering and by providing information about stuttering.

Meet the Board
:
PETER REITZES, MA, CCC-SLP, is the president, host and co-founder of StutterTalk. Peter is a person who stutters and an ASHA certified, North Carolina licensed, speech-language pathologist working in an elementary school in Durham, NC and in private practice in Chapel Hill, NC. Mr. Reitzes is author of 50 Great Activities for Children Who Stutter: Lessons, Insights, and Ideas for Therapy Success (PRO-ED) and co-wrote Stuttering: Myths, Beliefs and Straight Talk - a brochure for the Stuttering Foundation. Mr. Reitzes has taught graduate level stuttering courses at Long Island University, St. John’s University and Touro College. Peter has volunteered for FRIENDS, the National Stuttering Association and the Our Time Theatre Company and was co-facilitator of 2002’s Stutter Across America – a series of eight summer workshops hosted in cities across the United States.

JOHN COAKLEY is currently working towards a degree in Library and Information Science at the Palmer School, with a concentration in the Archival Sciences. His previous work experience includes tutoring, academic administration, and magazine publishing. He has served as Vice President of his building’s Co-Op board and oversaw a number of extensive improvement projects. John plays drums with a country-punk band called Dirty Wings. He stutters, and as a child worked with both Rochester’s Al Sigl Center and SUNY Geneseo’s Speech and Language Clinic in managing said disability.

PAUL MAMPILLY is a Managing Director, Co-portfolio manager and member
of the portfolio management team at Kinetics Asset Management, Inc. Paul has over 20 years experience as an investment professional working at Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank, ING Funds and the Capuchin Group as a research analyst and portfolio manager. Paul received his MBA from Fordham University, New York in 1996 and completed the Chartered Financial Analyst program in 1998.

Former StutterTalk Members
ERIC JACKSON, MS, CCC-SLP is an adult stutterer and co-founder and former co-host of the StutterTalk podcast. He works as a New York state licensed speech-language pathologist and special education teacher with preschoolers in Brooklyn, as well as in private practice with people who stutter of all ages. Additionally, Eric teaches the Fluency Disorders course at Long Island University, where he also supervises graduate students who work with people who stutter. Eric has served as Chapter Leader of the National Stuttering Association at Brooklyn College since 2008 and has volunteered and presented at many self-help and professional workshops and conferences around the country. Eric is a musician and currently resides in a "comfortable" studio apartment in Brooklyn Heights.
